Hello all!

I am new to the Mitel platform in this case the 3300 running release 4.0SP1, active software load 10.0.1.23.

I have a "blue" alarm on one of my DS1s and before calling this out to the LEC I want to complete some due diligence and bounce my CSU/Board. I am trying to get the terminology correct, if this were an Avaya series S8XXX, I would in software busy, test, release the DS1 board. Or in hardware pop the line card or replace the CSU/DSU off the back of the cabinet.

The question is how do I do that with the Mitel box?

There are three DS1s in this trunk group so it's not that urgent to get back up. It's been down for four days and the client didn't even know about it. Anyways, I am also hunting down the LEC and circuit information now. Nothing like picking up the pieces and documenting the whole process after Humpty Dumpty has fallen off the wall ;)

Any light that could be shed is greatly appreciated. Also would you recommend the training or can I find white papers on how to administer this box somewhere?

TIA!

I'm going to assume the T1 card is embedded.

Check the help files under maintenance and EDT commands. I'm sure one of them involves a reset.

Also, Re: training - get skilled with the help files. Anything a course will teach you is in there. The rest is experience.

make a loop back rj45 plug.loop pins 1 to 4 and 2 to 5. plug it in ,if the light goes green your good.

The T1 is embedded.

I was told by the business partner that there is no reset command for the embedded T1s. Best thing to do is unplug the DS1 from the port, wait a minute or so and re-insert the DS1 back into the port.

EDT SHOW LINK STATUS ALL for status of embedded links.

If needed one could BUSY the cabinent, shelf, and slot then return to service (RTS).

In the end, the LEC resolved the issue. Thanks for the responses!
