I recently acquired a used iMac that needs a lot of work. The problem is that OS 9 won't boot up correctly, so I tried reinstalling it. I made one succesful attempt at booting from CD into the OS, however my mouse and keyboard wouldn't work so I couldn't do anything. After several restarts, I received a gray screen displaying the following error message: "bootr, unknown word, Apple Firmware .... OK". So I think that it is trying to do a firmware upgrade. It displays a prompt, the only problem is that I can't type anything and I'm not sure if it is because the computer is frozen or that the mouse and keyboard don't work. Since I have made some succesful commands using the keyboard, I think it is working fine. Please let me know what to do to solve these problems! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
