"Backup Exec 8.x Job Engine" service fails to start.

"Backup Exec 8.x Job Engine" service fails to start after the initial installation of Backup Exec 8.5 on W2K server.
When I manually attempt to start the service an error: cannot connect to the local server.

Have you created an account to logon locally? If all the other services start what logon account are they using and is this any different to the logon account for this service?

Dellboy is right. The service is probably tied to your administrator account. Double click on the Backup Exec services and see what account they are tied to. If it is tied to the Administrator account change the password to be the same as the password you use to sign onto the server then start the services.
