I have users who are getting confused about which printer to use because the printers are being advertised in their "Printers and Fax" folders. Also, from Word, these show up in the print dialog.

These printers are advertisements, I think, and if I can turn off the advertisement, I hope the users will not see the printers.

Usually, they get something like "Auto LaserJet on ServerB". I can delete them, but they reappear after some period of time. Anyway to turn this off? Is it RIP? NetBIOS?

Sounds like a group policy. Just run a rsop.msc on the client to see what GPO's are being applied. DOS version type gpresult

Seems as you are running 2003 I would suggest client side extensions be installed on the clients then use vista or windows7 to create GPO with targeting to install there default printers.
