Hi All

I'm using CE XI connecting to an AS400.

I have an issue while running reports through Infoview via MS Internet Explorer. After the report has run and I try to export the report I get the following message:
"An error has occurred: null"
The report runs and exports fine through CR XI, it's just while using Infoview.
Is there a setting I need to change anywhere?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
When does that error appear?
After choosing the export type ( if so, does it happen on all types?)

As soon as you click on the Export Icon?
( are exports enabled on the server?)

Hi Turkbear.

It seems to happen if the report has taken a while to run i.e. on larger reports that may take about 45 seconds or more.

It happens as soon as the export button is hit.

It can also happen if you hit the print button.

I beleive that exports are enabled on the server as we have been able to export reports and still can on reports that don't take too long to run.

I wonder if there is some timeout issue as the behaviour also happens if you run a report and wait a short time before trying to export or print it. You can then run the same report and hit export immediately after it has run and it will export without a problem. It's a strange one!

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
To test if it is related to the reports being incompletely finished when 'asked' to export, try this:
When one of those long-running reports has completed, go to its last page and then back to the first..Try the export then...

I've just given this a go but when I hit the navigation button to move forward through the report the error message appeared then as well.

Hi,
It may be losing its connection on those long reports, so check the timeouts set in the CMC for idle jobs..

( Sometimes, the system,if it takes a long time to get the dataset from the source, 'thinks' the connection is idle)
