"Advanced Editing" button dos not appear in Acrobat 6 Pro from with IE

I am trying to edit PDFs with Acrobat 6 Pro. My application cranks up IE to dsiplay the PDF, once opened in Acrobat the "Advanced Editing" option does not appear on any of the Toolbars. The Commenting tools are availbale, but none of the "Advanced Editing:" options are present. Is there a setting in Acrobat or IE to allow the PDF to be edited/
