Greetings,

I am trying to move some old folders and files from the windows sbs 2003 server to an external hard drive I put on the server for temparary file storage solution. When trying to move the files from deleted users some of the files give me the "Access is denied." error popup box. I get the same error when trying to change security settings, deleting and backing up those folders/files as well. They are not encrypted and I also tried to adjust security setings at the volume level as well and that didn't work. It isn't a huge problem or anything, more anyoying than anything else. I was just wondering if there was a way to move/delete these files.

All help is appreciated!

I finally found a solution. I had to go to the server and use Manage under My Computer and change the security of the Shares. Once that was done I could take ownership of the folders and do what I wanted with them.
