I am at a loss. I am a net admin who needs help. I had a hardware failure on a server (Netwar 6.5) that was hosting a dBase 5 program. The program was running fine and allowing multiple user to login and work. I experienced the hardware failure and removed both hard drives and installed them on a near identical server. The spare server had different NIC cards and duo core processors. The OS came up fine on the new server except for the dBase 5 program. It will only allow 2 people to login simultaneously. Anyone outside of the two people will receive a "access file corrupted" dBase initialization error. If one person logs off then another can login.

The real confusion is that The program will run fine and allow multiple logins if I copy the program and directories to another server. Copy the program and directories back and the problem re-appears.

There is a temporary file that DBASE 5 creates (LOGIN.DB) that must be deleted manually if corrupted. This happens occasionally when a user crashes during login. Is this your problem?
