"%5bU%5d" sporadically appearing in Hyperlinks from Autoshapes

I have a conundrum.
I am using Frontpage 2003 to build a website.

I have a page with some AutoShapes which I've turned into hyperlinks to other pages.

Sometimes - I cannot exactly specify when, seems to be when I Update the page from my Dynamic Template - %5bU%5d is prepended to the link filename.
e.g.

http://devserver/appname//[U]ops_off_mstays.htm

I can remove it, but when I rerun the update, it comes back! Arg.

When I preview in local browser - is prefixed.
When I send to my IIS webserver and view remotely, %5bU%5d is shown in the address bar.

Strange, man.
