Quicktime plays back distorted Audio

I have a problem that I cant crack, using win Me i am unable to get quicktime to play enhanced audio cds properly.

Dvds, cds & other audio plays fine through media player and cd player etc, but upon playing an enhanced cd that requires quicktime, the sound is poppy and distorted.

I have reloaded quicktime but with no change

The sound card is sound blaster live.

I would appreciate any tips on this one.?

You are going to need a plug-in or and undate to Quicktime. I would go to the Quicktime website and download any updates or plug-ins.
It sounds like an outdated driver. If the update for Quicktime does not work. Try updates for you sound card. Have you played the enhanced CD in any other software like
real player, Windows Media etc. If it plays
fine in other software the problem is with Quicktime. If it does not play in other software it is your drivers for the sound card.
