Hi, I'm working on a project which requires us to use quick times (30fps) in director but I can't make them direct to stage as I need to be able to put interactive sprites above the video.
PROBLEM - The playback is really jerky.
the quick time file sizes range from 3,00kb to 5,000kb, + I'm not sure as to why director can't play them back smoothly.
Any advice?? (I have set the frame rate in the QT properties box to 30, and I am using mouse interaction - mousedown funtion, to control the playback of the quick times)
thanks for your time, Mel.

Mel - poss RAM problem?
Also you can test this theory by creating projector and testing on faster computer, copy to hard disk first if needs be
Try reducing frame rate and quicktime files that are uncompressed, RAM chewed up by high frame rates and heavy compression codecs. Frees up RAM despite larger files if QT not compressed, if you can afford the space eg. CD-ROM space limitations
I do not have any problems playing vids >500Mb in size if not compressed
Hope this helps,

P
