Quicktime error 11 when trying to export .avi to .mpg

Every time I try to use Quicktime 7.03 (Mac OSX 10.4.3) to export an AVI file to a MPEG file it starts the process and after 20 seconds or so comes up with a "Error Failed 11" message. Does anyone know what this error message means?

I'm not familiar with the particular error number but Quicktime often gets hung up on converting AVI files if the AVI was created with a codec that QT does not fully support.
