When I import a quicktime movie (with animation/million colors+ compression) into Director, the problem is that the Director doesn't read the alpha channel; is there a way around that?
Thanks,

There's no such thing as alpha channel video - OK, I saw one for the nextgen Flash player: Let's hope Adobe won't ditch that!

In the mean time there are few ways to "fake" alpha video.

1. Switch DTS off and set the ink to background transparent. The playback performance may suffer and the edge may be jugged.

2. Use mask. But as the mask needs to be in 1 bit the edge will be jugged. Also the mask would be static.

3. Use alpha PNG sequence instead. The playback performance may suffer.

4. Pre-render the QT with the background.
