I inherited a Windows 98 machine that is really quite weak and haven't had time to upgrade because some of the old software on it does not have original CD's (and I can't afford to replace them right now). I took some fonts and Adobe Illustrator from my machine and installed them onto this old machine. I thought everything was fine util this morning when I tried to print some invoices out of Quickbooks 2002. All the type (except the numbers) are coming out as squares. I tried printing from Word and everything came out fine. Since I don't have the install CD for Quickbooks 2002 I am not sure what to try from here. Any ideas?

Hold down the Ctrl key during startup, select 'Command prompt only' from the menu with the arrow keys, press Enter, at the C:\> prompt type scanreg /restore and press Enter, select a Registry that predates the problem and press Enter.
See if that works.

will this make me lose all done since?

Yes, but you can save important data files to a CD if you have a CD burner.

Forgot to mention that there's only 5 saved Registries which will probably date back only 5 days from today.
So you may not have to save too many data files.
