I am having major performance issues with QB2k7 Premier. My client computer takes almot 12 minutes to open the QB data file. My scenario is as follows.

2 Workstations:
QB Server Workstation:
80GB HD
2.4 GHZ Celeron
1GB RAM
10/100 NIC
Norton Internet Security 360
XP Home SP2

QB Client Workstation:
60 GB HD
2.0 GHZ Celeron
1GB Ram
10/100 NIC
Norton 360
XP Home SP2

The network runs on a 10/100 Switch. Normal file througput from workstation to workstation is fine, internet is fine, etc. Quickbooks is painfully slow.

I have disabled AV, changed switch, defragmented hd's, all to no avail. Any ideas?

If normal file throughput is good, this isn't an Ethernet problem.

I agree, the QB file is 100 MB which is not small but not that big either. Is there anything in particular with the QB server that I need to do? Upgrade RAM? Dedicate a workstation to act as a QB server?
