Quick Time to animated gif

Hi, I use I-photos to create a quick time movie. However i need to show it on web. Therefore thinking of converting it to animated gif. However, when i do it the file size increases. Please advise how to go about doing in without increasing the file size and the transition/effect from the quick time movie still reamains. Thank you in advance.
