We are in the process of upgrading from Crystal Enterprise 9 to Business Objects XI R2 and I performed an install of XI R2, installed Service Pack 1, then ran an import wizard to move over the report objects (in our Test environment). I ran a report that is run constantly at my company and I noticed that this particular report prints a blank page in between each page when printed from BOXI InfoView. I tried another report and it was fine. Any suggestions, etc? Is it common when running a formerly Crystal Reports 9 report that was just imported into BOXI to possibly have issues when printing?

Thanks in Advance,
Bessebo

It's a margin problem - not a print problem.

If you look at the report in the ActiveX viewer for InfoView, you will see that the page (usually landscape) is actually double the width of the page.

In CE-9/10 if you had a field that was on the margin or overlapped the page - the field was cropped .

In BOE-XI (R2) the page size "grows" to fit the field.

I reported it to BOBJ as a BUG months ago - but it hasn't been fixed as of CHF-15.

The only way to fix it is to test the reports you have migrated, then manually modify the fields and margins in the RPT file to make sure you don't have any overlap.

We migrated 6,000 RPT files and had to have the developers fix the fields and margins on about 200 of them.

Hop it helps....

Thanks so much for that. I anticipate a lot of testing. Were the problems related to the top and bottom margins or right/left? I assume top and bottom...

I only found issues in LANDSCAPE repports where the RIGHT margin had an overlapping field, that made the page "double-wide" in the InfoView Viewer panel.

It's easiest to see with the ActiveX viewer, because it gives you the grey-border around your page.
