Can anybody help me rercreate this tutorial, i allready have my sketch but i have no idea how to change the colors (for some reason it just gives me gray and black shades, when i click on the 2 color boxes on my tools box to change the color it doesnt change them, just keeps them gray and black shades) etc. im a very basic photoshop user, so can somebody write this tutorial out step by step i would really appreciAte it because its very broad in the tutorial, thanks alot.

This sounds like you are working in a grayscale or index color mode. Change to RGB or similar mode.

Yea i think i am working in grayscale mode but like i said i sont know how to change it so if anybody can let me know in detail it would be great abnd also please if you have time write out the tutorial step by step so i can understand it...thanks

Open a pic with PShop

To see what mode the picture opened in:
Use the top menu and Click Image > Mode

Here you can also pick a new mode like:
> RGB
