quick question regarding Buddy API

I used the search features here on tek-tips to solve a problem I was having regarding simply opening a pdf document for a small project Im working on.... it works great!

Question is Im only using the baopen to simply allow the user to click one of 12 buttons to open any of the 12 pdf documents that will be on the CD rom...

Do I need to PAY for BuddyAPI since Im using only this feature? Do I need to REGISTER it or do anything?

I dont want to have 300 CD roms pressed up and then run into some error message or something worse.
