Quick Question Outlook 2003

Mail Setup Exchange 2003/Outlook 2003

We have a user who has just recently been upgraded to office 2003. He has some personal distribution lists setup in outlook contacts which he sends to the one of them each day. In this distribution list are external people which email goes to fine. However, he also has a few of his own personal distribution lists of internal people as well which fail and bounce. Exchange just comes back with an NDR saying it couldn't deliver to the name of the distribution list.

Can anyone confirm that this can be done? Or if it's a bug with outlook 2003?

What does the NDR say ? code etc.

Is it the internal recipients only that bounce ?

Just the generic NDR.
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.

It's as if the exchange doesn't resolve it. I wondered if you could actually have personal distrubion list with one inside the other and if it would work? I know if I put these in the Gal it will work but ideally want the user to control.

Nested distribution lists should be fine.

Does "Daily Distribution" have any members in it? Users have been known to do the strangest things sometimes.

Nested, now that was the word I was looking for. Yeap, the user has these nested distribution lists, 3 of them inside this daily distribution including external people. The external people get the mail ok. Each nested distribution list has 3/4 people from the internal gal which all resolve when I click on each person.

However, none of them nested list get this email.

Try Creating the Distribution List on the server.

That kinda defeats the object of being personal distribution lists as he has loads.
