i turned up a customer from analog (centrex) to PRI
they were used to the dial 9 thing
now they want to get "unused to it"

is that the SDT field i modify?
or the absorb field

they are a 24/7 shop and really can't "tinker" to find out myself without disturbing them
thanks for any insight

You need to go into the routing tables and add in other digits that don't conflict to dial straight out and then set it to absorb the digit or digits that you have defined in the routing table.

thanks for the reply
not trying to be thick here
not sure this was implied by my statement
the carrier (bell) does not require a 9, just want the customer to pickup the handset and start dialing area code/number
i have a few there PRI customers that don't dial 9,
just logged into 2 of them and i'm just zoning on how i did it and its not jumping out at me
do you have an example i can reference?

All carriers, don't need an access code, but to access the trunks, you either need a key on the phone to access the individual trunk or trunks or to have an access code such as "9" for extension users to get dial tone programmed in on the phone system.

Instead of using e.g. "9", you can bypass this by having codes that do dial a number added in the routing table, but these codes can't contlict with the BCM and they need to be programmed so that the leading digit is sent out to line rather than being deleted such as a "9".

The easiest way I find is to put an "outdial" button that will automatically select the outbound trunk/line. It can be as simple as a speed dial button that is the destination code, usually 9 to access the route that points to the PRI.

STD = Second Dial Tone
By default when dialing a destination code you will get no dial tone like you do with an access code for pools.
You can add your dest codes in that column then they will hear the dial tone.
It is called second dial tone as the first is usually Intercom dialtone.

You cannot prime line a phone to PRI, only to Intercom, Pool or a Line (copper).

The only way around it would be to create a dest code such as 905 (absorb none) so when people dial 905 area code it will grab a route.
The problem is some area codes use digits already in use by the system such as 2XX such as what Firebird was pointing out.

They only way around this for those laziest people on earth is to program Hotline in Capabilities/Preferences to External, use Route, dial External # of 9.
Then walk around and ask "are you one of those laziest people on earth?" and if they say yes then tell them to pickup their handset before they dial.
Actually forget about all the above....picking up a handset is probably way to much for your client to handle.
