I am interested in learning how to use quick masking to extract things out of pictures etc. Other methods I use are not as clean and I've heard quick mask is a powerful tool.
Any help? or ideas?
thanks

open a pic in photoshop..select the quick mask tool ( right button under your swatches on your tool pallet )..choose a tool to begin the quick masking..i personaly like to use the pencil tool for the most part, but everyone has there preferences ( alot use the paint brush ), but they both come in handy for different reasons..choose the black swatch and begin painting the area that you want to mask, it will become red..if you use the white swatch it will erase..and that's pretty much it..when your done masking the area you want to extract or manipulate click the left quick mask button to exit from quick mask..you should see you are selected..
The extract tool new to Photoshop 6 can really help out as well. It brings your image up in a seperate window where you sort of get 2 quickmasks to block out areas you want knocked out. It works great for taking backrounds out of photos and such (I once took a whole flock of birds out the sky in like 2 minutes). Between quickmask and extract, LivePicture has nothing to brag about any more.
