I think this is what you are wanting.
Make sure you can see hidden folders first!!
C:\Documents and Settings\*USERNAME*\Application Data\Microsoft\Interent Explorer\Quick Launch
Right click and drag into the start menu and creat shortcut there.
Where it says *USERNAME* please change to what you log in as

You can copy the icon from the default user profile if it is there.
As mentioned above, make sure that hidden files and folders are visible. Copy c:\documents and settings\default user\application data\microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop to c:\documents and settings\*USERNAME*\application data\microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.
As mentioned previously change *USERNAME* to your user id. Kevin Mattson
