Hi all
I am just rolling out a disaster recovery solution for my Exchange 5.5 server. What i have done:
Installed same OS and same Exchange server including service packs and hotfixes, the machine is part of the domain with same service account for exchange and site and organisation is the same. The machine name is different in case i need them both on the network at the same time
My plan is to keep this machine off-site and in the event of disaster i can recover from an on-line backup using backup exec and redirect it to the hot swap DR server.
I just want to know if this sounds good or is there any other better ways to do this?
Also i know you can't change PC name once exchange is installed so i will have to change every clients Outlook. Is there a way of automating this when the two servers are not on the same site?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
