I've been asked to create some reports based off of QuickBooks 2005. Now when I go into the data connections of Crystal, I see a ton of different data sources listed, but I don't see Quicken or Quick Books. (a .qbw file)

I googled it and see different 3rd party solutions, including qodbc.com, which seems to be selling an ODBC connection for QuickBooks.

Has anyone ever connected to QuickBooks, and does Crystal really support this, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Crystal supports ODBC.

How to extract the data is quite a different story, you need to understand the table structures.

I don't understand. I know that Crystal supports ODBC, but QuickBooks doesn't? Is that why I need to purchase this QODBC driver? So that I can connect to the .QBW file under my list of ODBC sources in Crystal?

Sort of, Quickbooks doesn't have an ODBC driver, so others saw an opportunity and wrote it.

I use the FlexQuarters QODBC driver and it works GREAT! The better news is, the next release of QuickBooks (Pro or Enterprise... I am not sure) is going to include this ODBC driver for free!
