First of all, what is it? How do you build one and associate with a dn/tn?
Thanks

When you build one queue (ACD) , you must create Agents , this agents have a DN and TN .
Ld 23 (for Build ACD)
Req New
type ACD
ACDN (Directory Number)
....
Maxp Maximun Positions
....

Ld 11
req new
type (eg. 2616 )
...
key 0 acd XXXX (ACD Dn, the same ACDN )zzzz (agent's position )
....

This is little help

I am trying to setup Thru Dial whereby a caller can dial a DID and enter an extension bypassing our receptionist.

I am told inorder to do this, you build a queue and then in Merl Mail you setup thru dial associating it with the DN.

Is this correct? Do you have a step-by-step or doc I could access to do this?
Thanks

Do you know your general voice mail number, if not go to LD 20 req prt, type TNB then 10 1 as the TN. Look for DN on KEY 0

To set up ACD Q

LD 23
REQ NEW
TYPE ACD
ACD enter your new DN which you wish to route calls into Mail
Please rtn to MAXP enter 1
Plese rtn until
NCFW enter the DN from above LD 20
press rtn until the end.

This will then route all calls to Mail

hope it helps

Maybe you misunderstood me or I was not clear enough, I do not want to route calls to mail. We already have a backdoor number to mail.

What I want to do is allow people to call a number (DID) where they can punch in the extension of a person and it routes them to that extension directly without having to call our main number and deal with reception.

Sorry for the confusion if there is any :))

Yes, I know my voicemail number....we have 2, one for internal access and a DID used for backdoor.

I do not understand the ld 20 command. What tnb am I looking for "10 1" above does not make sense?

I then went into load 23 and tried to create the acd, but it told me the acdn was invalid. However, this DID is valid. I can associate it with a TN and it can be called.

For this purpose, I did not not associate it with a TN. I am totally lost now????

Can anyone help?

What DN were you trying to enter when it told you it was
invalid? Were you trying to enter the DID # as the ACDN?

Ok, got it. Who said learning these damn switches was easy :)

Learned a lot and look forward to learning more thanks to everyone who responded. Maybe I'll be able to pass your knowledge off to a beginner like myself some day.

Once again, thanks everyone for your help. It works like a charm !
