I have an IP 406 with two 30-port and one 16-port expansion units. There's a T1 line connected to the unit that is used for incoming/outgoing calls.

When customers call the main line, they ring to a group of three receptionists, or, failing that, go into a queue. The problem is that when the queue is full, incoming calls get dead air. It'd be preferable if they got a busy signal. It may turn out that it's even more preferable that they get forwarded to a voicemail box to either play a recording or take a message.

The second question I have is possibly even more elementary. When callers are waiting in the queue, a message comes on every ten seconds or so to tell them their call is important and to keep waiting. How can I change this message and also change the frequency at which it's replayed? I inherited this system and didn't set it up in the first place, and I can't figure out where I can change this.

Thanks for all the help!

If you change te message of the mailbox,you can speek what ever you like.
You have to change option message 3 and 4.
3 = First Announcment
4 = second Announcment

What i always do is a Function code.
*99
"?Anonymous"

Voice mail

Give the huntgroep voicemailcode 1234.
Now you can dial *99 and it asks for the mailbox(huntgroepnr) you want to change, and then for the pincode.
Now you can change message 3 and 4.

And in the huntgroep tab, you can change the no answer timer.

the inttial que msg time can be changed by setting the que ring time. all further msgs happen at 20 sec intervals

Que limit can be used to limit the number of calls that will hit the que subsequent callers will get busy (or pos VM, I havent tested this)
