Queue Manager

Queue manager quit for 2nd time today. HELP! We are dead in the water.

Stopped this morning after running great for 2 weeks (new install). Per tech support we applied 8.05 hotfix2 patch to fix - but it didn't. Went to an image from last night, applied patch and the backup worked - for 8 hrs. Stopped again. Cleared the queue manager queue - they said this is due to a mal-formed email. Nothing in queue, also reapplied patch - nothing. Queue Manager will not restart. The system gets and receives email POP3/SMTP but won't deliver them due to the queue manager being stopped. Even manual sends out of the queue manager won't work.

SOLUTION!!

After spending all evening reinstalling Ipswitch mailserver and rebuilding (importing reg Keys) we slowly copied all the data and original directory into the new install. It came down to one file. ANTISPAM.TXT this file had been updated via a download from Ipswitch website a week ago - but something broke in it yesterday. We have been able to confirm that everything works fine with the version that ships - but something in this file if copied to our Ipswitch mailserver stops and will not allow a restart of the Queue Manager. If you update - preserve a copy of your current. If Queue Manager stops try deleting this file and restarting the manager. We were dead in the water for 7 hrs trying to resolve this. I also recommend
having the 8.05 hotpatch2 installed.
