We will be upgrading a NW 4.11 server to NW 5.1 this weekend. We currently use queue based printing and do not want to change to NDPS, at least for now. The queues are on the server which we will be upgraded and we plan to do an in-place upgrade. If we select to not install NDPS during installation, will our queue based printing continue to work as usual?
Thanks.

Barry

Yes it will. Your queue based printing will stay active during the installation and after. The company I work for did make a move to NDPS though after the mail file server crapped out. I must admit, NDPS is much better than the traditional queue based printing. You can select the printer and the driver atumatically isntalls on the workstation. Reduces the headache of having to manually install drivers etc.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure we will end up eventually with NDPS, but queue based is working fine for us now; so we'll come back to NDPS once our 5.1 upgrade is complete.
