Hello,
I have a couple of questions if I may be so bold:
1) How would I get the help buttons within the Enterprise to work and where in the .csp would I do this?
2) Creating thumbnails?
3) Formatting the group tree to 12345 instead of 12,345.00
4) What do you feel is a reasonable amt of time before a report comes back within the Enterprise. My reports are running about 90 seconds before returning. Is this a long time?

Sorry to be a bother. Want to get this right. I appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Chris

thumbnails - within the crystal report designer you need to go to file menu, then summary info and that will bring up the document properties. Tick the show preview picture. Run the report and save.
When you publish the report to CE, make sure that you choose modify properties (which is mid way through the publishing process) and then ensure that the thumbnail tickbox is ticked. The published report should now show a thumbnail.

Thank you, works beautifully.

Anything on the other issues.

Thanks.

Any numeric values are going to show up as 12345.00 in the group tree. You need to convert those numerics to text values using totext() function and while passing actual value change it back to number using tonumber(). This is the solution I am using. If there is any other way to do this, please let me know.

Thanks,

Vishal

Regarding Issue 4:

There are many factors that can contribute to the speed in which a report is returned:
[ul][li]Record Select Statement Optimization[/li]
[li]Server traffic[/li]
[li]Server processor, memory, cache, etc...[/li][/ul]
In general, I would say that 90 seconds is a bit long to wait for a web-enabled report. Then again, the particular report may not be suited for ad-hoc or 'on-demand' runs (generally meaning that the user clicks 'view' and enters parameters), it may be better suited for scheduling.

As an example, I designed a series of 17 reports for my current client. Of these 17 reports, 16 make good ad-hoc reports and generally return results in seconds. The 17th report contains 7 very complex subreports that pull back a significant amount of data. This report is better suited to scheduling.
