I'm considering the STSe system and I have a couple questions, 1, the remote admin, i know i need a board to go in the KSU, what do I need on a PC other then procomm or hyperterminal, or is there some special software ?
2, the cordless phones, what is the approximate range, from the base, can it be set to answer multiple incoming lines, are there any sets i want to avoid ?

I use hyperterminal, it is very easy, you can also backup all system data in case you ever need to upload it to the phone system.. I put cordless phones in a small warehouse and the cordless bases are where the phone jacks are. They have no reception problems.

You can have multiple lines ring to the cordless phones, you will not have line appearancees for the lines, but you can transfer the calls to other extensions or voicemail.

I presume it's 9600, 8,N,1 on hyperterminal ? since I do have one fax machine is there a default analog port I can connect it to? or am I better to connect to it's own line. since i'm having 4-6 loop start lines can the other buttons on the phone be assigned to thing like speed calls

Thanks

When I use hyper terminal I dial any number hooked up and routed to the auto-attendant and once answered I transfer myself to the modem to start any session.

Ok the only other question I have is what is the "warrenty" on the system & phones, i.e. if the magic smoke gets out of some part of it, I would go through the dealer ? or would I contact Vodavi directly ?

You would call your dealer since they are authorized by Vodavi to handle the warranty. The technician will have to look at the system and determine it is bad and under warranty and then talk to Vodavi tech support for an advance replacement. The length of your warranty is as stated when you bought the system.
