Questions Regarding Upgrading from 4.0 to 4.5

I may sound stupid but here goes. I want to upgrade from PS 4.0 to 4.5. Citrix tells me that since/if I have SA that I can up for free. I know we had SA before, but am not sure if management has kept it up-to-date. How can I tell if SA is up-to-date?

What are the new steps in either upgrading the licenses or downloading the upgrade software?

go on the mycitrix web page with your account... if you don't have one, create yourself one and in the licensing part, you can enter your serial number and it should give you all the info you need on you licenses.

for the download, it's all on the Citrix web site

Why can't anybody give me a straight answer to this simple question? I am currecntly running PS 4.0 Standard Edition. The MyCitrix web site is very confusing and does not give you any answers. I opened a case with Citrix, they gave me a case number, sent me an e-mail, in which they said they closed the case, and I never heard from them again.

1. What steps do I have to take to update to PS 4.5.
2. Are there any licenses requirements or upgrade.
3. What are the costs involved, even for maintenace upgrades.

I'm just a simple country boy and want simple answers.

Drakugii did give a pretty straight answer. You are going to have to get used to the my citrix site, because, if I remember correctly, I had to do everything through that site, including renewing SA and DOWNLOADING the software. I don't recall any additional charges going from 4.0 to 4.5, our inital charges were incurred when we upgraded from XP to 4.0. We had to take advantage of the "recovery period" offered by out reseller to upgrade our XP Licenses to 4.0. After we had purchased that with SA, we were able to upgrade to 4.5. Again, if you are not going through a Citrix reseller that can answer your questions, you'll have to get used to using the website. I've given up on getting answer directly from Citrix. Hope that helps.
 
But once you get to the licenses section there is not guidance to tell you how to upgrade. Only the standard Activate, Allocate, etc.??
 
WHat if you go the "Manage My Renewals" tool. Are there any existing quotes, or do you have any contracts under "Manage Existing Contracts".
 
Also, check the Product Upgrades / Fulfillment tab. See if you are listed for any eligible upgrades.
