Hi, i have two questions,

In microsoft word 2002:

1. When numbering pages in a document, you have the option of numbering or not the first page. However, what I would like to do is not put number on the first two pages and the last one. Is there a way to do that?

2. If I want an header that says one thing on odd pages and something else on even pages, how can I do it?

Thanks in advance,
Jo

From the Word help file:

Create different headers or footers for odd and even pages

1. On the View menu, click Header and Footer.

2. On the Header and Footer toolbar, click Page Setup.

3. Click the Layout tab.

4. Select the Different odd and even check box, and then click OK.

5. If necessary, move to the Even Page Header area or Even Page Footer box.

6. Create the header or footer for each even-numbered page.

7. To move to the header or footer for each odd-numbered page, click Show Next on the Header and Footer toolbar. Then create the header or footer you want.

Note Word inserts the odd and even headers or footers throughout the entire document; you can't create odd and even headers or footers for part of the document. However, if you divide the document into sections and break the connection between them, you can set different odd and even headers or footers for each section.

And that brings us to the answer for your first question. Start the second page with a new section. Then the third page with a new section as well, setting up the odd and even header/footers. Finally, create yet another section for the final page, with no page numbers in the header/footer.
Experiment. [pc2] You won't break it. Follow the guides in the Help file. They really are very helpful.
