Questions about the Cisco 6509

Hi There,

I have lots of experience of desiging smaller LAN Multilayer networks using Cisco Catalyst 2950s, 3550s, PIX and 2600 Series routers. I now have to look at using a Cisco 6509 Switch for an upcoming design.

Can anyone explain to me what the MSFC, CSM, FWSW and SSL Modules are for in this Cisco switch. I know the 6509 itself is just a chassis that has to be filled with various cards but an explanation of the cards above would help me greatly.

When I first started working on configuring a 6509 chassis it was confusing to figure out what cards you need, but it all depends on what you are wanting to do out of the switch.
