Hello,
We just upgraded our SMS installation with the SUS feature pack. We have 8 secondary sites that are connected over t1's, and the pipes aren't too busy. I have assigned 10 PC's to the test collection (we called it SUSTEST-pre production) and are trying to get the inventory returned.
So far (4 hours) we only have the inventory for one XP PC that is located in the same building as our Primary site. All secondary servers show that they have downloaded the package, and it looks like half of the advertisements have been recieved. What type of time frame should we be looking at for results?
Any further suggestions would be appreciated as far as this newfangled SUS/SMS feature pack. It looks smooth and seems to work, I'm just trying to figure out what to expect from it.
Last question, for a site with ~1500 users, spread out over 8 secondary servers...what type of system would be appropriate? Right now it's a dual proc 700 with 512 MB Ram...
Thanks,
N
