Hi,
I´m kinda beginner in linux.
I´m using Linux Mandrake 7.2, I would like to know how do I configure SQUID. The thing is that I want the log generated by it.

Thank you in advance,

Frederico

Hi,

I think in most packages of squid the logs are commented out by default so would not be active. The locations would be as defined in the config file - /etc/squid/squid.conf and typically are located in the /var/log/squid directory. For example :

cache_access_log /var/log/squid/access.log

(The above example defines where to log client access activity.)

If your's are commented out just edit the squid.conf file and remove the leading '#' and save. Then do a 'killall -HUP squid' to force it to re-read the config file on the fly.

Hope this helps
