questions about form

hi there,

I am a beginner of writing homepage and this is my first post in this forum. I dunno whether I should post the question in this forum.

Recently, I want to write a webapge(for my friend) with forms for the following purpose:

1. to let ppl register as volunteer of my group, the form filled in will be submitted, with checking/validation.

2. somewhat like shopping cart, but the submitted form will be sent to my email account, then i can collect information and contact the ppl want to buy the stuff.

i hv just installed apache 1.3.27 with windows 2000 plaform.
what is needed for the form in the server, does apache include all the tools I need? and what should i write? cgi? javascript?
could anyone help me? i am really new to this. Thanks.

I doubt that you will be able to write such a script with html alone so you will need to install perl or php. Chances are that there are scripts already written that will do this for you. One good source for scripts is
