Questions about Enterprise server

Hello,

we are thinking of implementing the Blackberry Enterprise server fro Exchange and I have a question. We use an E-mail gateway for Spam and Virus filtering now. SMTP is forwarded to this gateway which then forwards SMTP over a different port to my Exchange.

Will this work with the Blackberry Enterprise server?

The diagram they show on their site shows traffic hitting the firewall, then the Blackberry server, then the Exchange.

Yes we do the same thing. The Enterprise server talks to Exchange and will forward anything going to your Exchange Email Box. The Spam that is filtered out at the Gateway never gets to your exchange so you won't forwarding SPAM to the Blackberries.

Matt, it goes the other way. Into Exchange THEN to BES. It will work fine if the BES can get out to the Net easily.
