Okay,

I knew enough to rename the initial passwords for SYS and SYSTEM (written down in a separate file/computer also in case it's fogotten, BTW).

However, I have found out about other "users" set up by Oracle and Oracle utilities that also have well known passwords.

There have not been any security problems so far but I want to do everything I can now to ensure the integrity of the database. I want to start by changing all of these passwords from the originally supplied password.

One person told me that there was at least one of these "users" that MUST retain its current password. Does anyone know which passwords for Oracle user names I can change without problem and what to do with the rest?

thanks.
