Questions about Agent mail and MAPI

New SQL server 2000 (I hesitate to say) Admin.

I am having trouble getting my system to email me notifications. (I set my self up as a operator and to get information notifications and I do not get them.)
This is what I was asked.

1. Is SQLAgent Mail started?
2. Is the MAPI spooler running?
3. Have you created a profile for the mail process?
4. Do you have the Outlook 2000 client installed on the same box as SQL?

1. hmm I see in services MSSQLSERVER running (with the
same profile I have set up in the Mail agent)I also see
SQLSERVER AGENT running (again same profile) I do not see
an option for SQLAGENT Mail to be running or not.
2. I do not see an option for this to be running(I have
searced looking for a way to start this service but I came
up empty)
3. I have.
4. I have oultlook 2002 installed on the same PC.


Any advice would be great.
