Questiong re IRPStackSize, ExchAgnt and ARCserve 9

Hi there,

i saw someone recommending that the IRPStackSize value be changed in order to obtain higher troughput.

Will this work too, if you are backing up Exchange IS (either via neighbourhood or agent)?

Any experiences?

I would expect that it would not help.

Just to confirm: It does not improve IS Backup speed. Just tested it, with IRPStackSize set to 25 on the Backup Machine and default on Exchange Server which is being backed up via neighbourhood.

It has been known to help when there was a connection failure reported due to server resources. I'm not up on the agents but I think some of the later agents support IP which should be faster than Named Pipes.
