cook please ....
what is the different between the private and public network ?
and when can i set my network to private ?
and when can i set my network to public ?
because i have noticed , when i connect 2bcms i can use private network also i can use public network !!

i am confused between these .!

thank you

Public is for dialing between the two systems extention to extention.
Public is for dialing from one and calling out on the pstn of another.Or dialing out from it's own PSTN.

Private DN leingth would be set for the amount of digits the DN's are.
Public DN leingth would be for the amount of digits the PSTN requires to make a call.
They are set in the dial plan in public and private.

cook,
correct me if I'm wrong but I think you meant
Private is for dialing system to system.

but tandem dialing is used in private network not in the public right ????

not always if you transfer a call to side 2 and side 2 transfers back to 1 the line should clear.
