Question related to date format in Mainframes system

Hi,

I am basically new to programming that to working in Access, I have a database with data that need to imported into Access, I have a date field with data in this format.

"19920708"

when we convert into ordinary date what does it really mean.

You may be interested to know that there is an Access forum on Tek-Tips, you have actually posted your query in the Sybase SQL forum.....

Anyway, to answer your specific question, a date in that form is going to be

CCYYMMDD, so your date will convert to 08 July 2001 (08/07/2001).
