Hi,

I have a requirement as follows.

I wish to delete a folder which is not accessed for a long time. If I delete it, it goes to recyclebin. When it goes to recyclebin, all the permissions attached to the folder and its sub folders get lost. If someone requires for the retrieval of the folder, I can restore the folder but not the old permission(as it has been lost already). So, we decided not to delete the folders, instead we went to the permissions page and removed every permission assigned. i.e. The username/group would be attached with no permission. When someone requests for a restore, we revoke the permissions. If there are only some users/groups attached to the folder/sub folders, the above said process would be easy. If there are lot of users/groups, then it would be more complex.

Any other idea u suggest would be helpful.

Regards,
Bala
