hello all,

my situation is I used disk druid to mirror the hard disk during the installation(including boot device). what I want to accomplish is to detach the mirror for all hard disks including boot disk without losing any data on it.

what I learned so far is I can stop and remove one hard disk from the meta device (/dev/mdX) however, it seems using mdadm command set I m not able to completely remove the meta device and release the hard disk, it should be at least one physical drive in the metadevice.

1. stop meta device
2. remove one hard disk for /dev/mdX (the other one is still in the metadb)
3. how to remove the other one, can I do remove again? how to delete the /dev/mdX?

Any body has the experience on that?

Appreciate any comments.
