Question regarding importing HL7 file into Access

I am not sure if anyone has experience with this type of text file but it is a mess for Access. I once wrote part of a program in C# to parse one medical record and then import it into a Access database. Now I am trying to do it for multiple medical records in one HL7 and didn't know if it is possible to open it with VBA, parse the file, and then import it to a table. Anyone that can help me out, I would greatly appreciate.
