Question Re: Using an Excel file as Input to DataStage 1

How do you setup an Excel file as input to DataStage. I've
tried using the "sequential file" stage, and that doesn't
work. Then I thought of using "OLE/DB" stage, and tried a
number of drivers for Excel, and still couldn't get it to
work. Anyone here ever done this successfully ?

Use a standard Microsoft Excel ODBC driver. When importing the metadata into DataStage make sure the "System Tables" check box is checked as the driver reports each worksheet as a system table.

Another option is to output the Excel file into a delimited format file.
