I am currently running my 5.5 OWA off a stand alone member server with W2K. My Exchange 5.5 is on a separate box running NT 4.0.

Recently, I've upgraded my environment to Exchange 2003 by adding a new Exchange 2003/W2K3 server and moving all mailboxes to this machine.

Am I going to need the exisitng stand alone OWA server or am I going to run OWA directly from the new Exchange 2003 box?

Thank you in advance for any help.

You can do either.

We run OWA straight from our 2003 box and it works really well.

I suppose it depends on the predicted load on the server and the hardware spec of your Exchange 2003 box.

Also, if you currently have your OWA 5.5 box in a DMZ or with specific security settings in your firewall, then you may choose to upgrade that box and keep your configs as they are.
