Howdy folks,
I'm looking at a potential promotion to an "operations manager" position where I would be in charge of operations of a large Oracle/Unix PeopleSoft environment. However, I've always been on the development side of things, not the operational side.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good resources related to operational management?
I'm particularly interested in things like operations metrics, keys to high-performance operations, etc.
I'm more interested in the business aspect of this, not technical resources - I'm going to be managing the operations team, not managing the databases myself.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
