Hello, Using SQL 2008 Reporting Services on local 32 bit XP machine. I am having trouble with the URLs. In the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, Report Manager URL, I click on the https link and it works but the http link does not.

Security is not something I understand, so I do not know what I am looking for.

I am working on my desktop system to learn what is needed before going on to the development server. The two URLs listed are:
where name is my machine name and domain is the domain I am logged on.

Reading the technet BOL is confusing as the papers keep referencing different papers that reference each other.

Should my Service Account be "Use another account:" or "Use built-in account:"? Currently I am using the first with an administrator account just to get started. I believe this should be a minimal right account in production. (see comment about security above).

As you can tell I am lost. Any idea as to why the http: link does not work?

Thank you,

djj

Started with which gives "page cannot be found".

The gives 'Problem loading page', "The connection was interrupted".

I probably got it really fouled up by now as I have been trying the various IP setup based on the TechNet papers. I think I have been through about eight papers so far.

Thank you for the reply,
